Budo Dojo School of Aikido

Budo Dojo is a school of traditional Japanese martial arts that teaches aikido and self-defense in the Portland metropolitan area for over 20 years. The school's training includes throws, locks, and pinning techniques as well as traditional weapons such as wooden staff and sword. Budo Dojo is affiliated with Aikido Schools of Ueshiba (ASU) under the leadership of Mitsugi Saotome Shihan. The school's mission is to preserve and disseminate the teachings and principles of Aikido, as transmitted by Morihei Ueshiba O Sensei to his direct disciple Mitsugi Saotome Shihan. Aikido is a non-competitive but powerful martial art that teaches individuals to unlock their potential, improve health, confidence, and spirit, and make strong, healthy human beings. The school's instructors are experienced and well-qualified, with Dan Penrod being the chief instructor and holding a rokudan (6th degree black belt) in aikido.
