About Us
Westlake Village Aikido is a dojo that teaches traditional Aikido, as taught in Iwama, Japan. The dojo was founded by David Alexander in 1989 and follows the traditional Aikido style and teaching methods of Morihiro Saito Sensei, who trained under the founder, Morihei Ueshiba, for nearly a quarter century. Saito Sensei was a leading authority on Aikido and spent 10 years training Aikido in Iwama, Japan under him. All classes are open to observers, and students from other Aikido dojos are welcome to train up to six classes for a $5 per-class mat fee.
