Black Bear Dojo

Black Bear Traditional Martial Arts Center is the only dojo in the Southeastern CT/RI area certified by the Japanese government, with direct lineage to Okinawa and Japan. The dojo focuses on authentic traditional Okinawan and Japanese martial arts, emphasizing confidence, fitness, and self-discipline. It serves as the Shibu (Head) dojo on the East Coast for Reihokan Shorin-Ryu, reporting directly to Naonobu Ahagon, Hanshi in Naha, Okinawa, Japan. The dojo offers classes for all ages and is committed to building a community where every student and their family is valued.
