Mutokai Iaido

Mutokai Iaido, founded in 1979, is dedicated to the practice of iaido, the art of drawing and using the Japanese sword, or katana. The dojo emphasizes training in the forms and traditions of the Musoshinden sect, offering members the opportunity to advance through three levels of expertise. Iaido is rooted in historical combat techniques and focuses on the swift and efficient use of the katana without damaging the sword or the practitioner. The discipline not only hones physical skills but also promotes a Zen state of awareness, encouraging practitioners to flow with life and overcome fear and uncertainty. Membership is open to individuals aged 16 and above, fostering a community that values traditional martial arts and personal development.
