About Us
The Irvine Dojo teaches Kyokushin Karate, a style of stand-up, full contact karate founded in 1964 by Masutatsu Oyama. The heart of their karate is real fighting, and they emphasize the importance of tradition and respect in the world of martial arts. Their dojos are guided by the Dojo Kun, which includes principles such as training the heart and body for a firm spirit, pursuing the true meaning of the martial way, and cultivating a spirit of self-denial. Their instructor, Nori Hasegawa, has been training in Kyokushin Style for over 30 years and has instructed many fighters.
