Anga Capoeira Maryland is a studio that promotes the art of Capoeira in the DMV area through community engagement. They offer classes for people of all ages, including kids, toddlers, and adults, where they can learn the unique movements and rhythms of Capoeira. The classes focus on developing motor skills, cooperation with peers, and learning the basic movements of Capoeira such as kicks, defenses, and acrobatic movements. They also have a philosophy that encourages students to motivate each other to be better Capoeiristas. The studio is led by Contramestre Hakim (Roberto Tapia) and has a team of skilled instructors. They have partnerships with other organizations and offer various programs, including after-school programs, demonstrations, and workshops. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines dance, acrobatics, and music.
