About Us
Danzan ryu Jujitsu is a Hawaiian-Japanese Jujutsu system founded by H.S. Okazaki in the 1920s. It combines techniques from various Japanese Jujutsu styles and incorporates elements from other martial arts practiced in Hawaii. The dojo emphasizes self-defense and functional martial arts training, covering a range of techniques including standing joint locks, throws, chokes, submissions, weapon defense, and healing methods. The training promotes the Hawaiian spirit of aloha, focusing on family and community support. The curriculum is designed to build confidence and skill through creative drills and lessons, with a strong emphasis on the application of techniques in real-life situations. The dojo fosters self-improvement and personal growth, encouraging practitioners to develop their total self through Jujitsu training.
