About Us

Our group, based in Cambridge, MA, focuses on training the specific taiji system taught by Patrick Kelly, the only non-Chinese student of Huang Xingxian. We use a training approach that involves sustained effort to continually change and refine ourselves. Our training curriculum includes exercises such as the 5 loosening exercises by Huang Xingxian, the 37 posture short form by Zheng Manqing, the 108 posture long form by Yang Chengfu, 8 basic fixed pattern push hands, and guided meditation. We are led by Charlie Liu, who has been training with Patrick Kelly's approach since 2014, and has also studied with other notable taiji instructors in the past.
