Capoeira Besouro is Santa Monica’s premier school for Capoeira, dance, and martial arts. It offers classes for all ages, from energetic toddler sessions to vibrant kids' classes and empowering adult lessons. Capoeira, a dynamic blend of self-defense, dance, and music, was born from the resilience of enslaved Brazilians in the 17th century, and the dojo proudly continues this tradition today. The school also provides studio rentals, private lessons, and small group sessions to cater to individual needs. Mestre Batata, the owner and head instructor, blends the philosophies of both Angola and Regional Capoeira, offering a modern approach to this traditional art form.
