International Shinkendo Federation Japanese Swordsmanship Aikido

The International Shinkendo Federation is an organization dedicated to teaching authentic Japanese swordsmanship under the guidance and leadership of Obata Toshishiro. It offers training in Shinkendo, Toyama Ryu Battōdō, and Bōjutsu. The federation's Honbu Dojo, located in Boyle Heights, California, is the World Headquarters and offers classes in Shinkendo, Aikido, and Toyama Ryu Iaido. The organization has authorized branches around the world where students can study and learn from certified instructors. Shinkendo is a martial art that teaches sword-drawing, sword-swinging, solo forms, partnered sparring, and test-cutting through targets with a real sword.
