Honbu Dojo

The International Shinkendo Federation is dedicated to teaching authentic Japanese swordsmanship under the guidance of Obata Toshishiro. The Honbu Dojo, located at Nichiren Buddhist temple in Boyle Heights, California, serves as the World Headquarters, with authorized branches worldwide. Shinkendo encompasses various areas of instruction, including sword-drawing, sword-swinging, solo forms, partnered sparring, and test-cutting with a real sword. Additionally, the dojo offers classes in Aikido and Toyama Ryu Iaido, providing a comprehensive martial arts education.
