Knoxville Aikido Center

The dojo, Knoxville Aikikai, was founded in 1993 by Rob Crowell Sensei. It is a United States Aikido Federation member dojo. The dojo teaches Aikido, a martial art founded by Morihei Ueshiba, also known as O-Sensei. The style is based on the principle of non-violence and human integrity. Aikido training includes techniques for evading and neutralizing an opponent's attack without using force or violence. The dojo has a lineage that dates back to O-Sensei and includes notable instructors such as Akira Tohei Sensei and Yoshimitsu Yamada Sensei. The dojo's current instructors include Rob Crowell Sensei, 6th Dan, Shidoin, and two 1st Dan instructors, Michael Porter and Nathan Eckel.
