About Us
Shorin-Ryu Karate School is a dojo that teaches an authentic form of martial arts known as Okinawan karate, which has been passed down from generation to generation. The school was established in 1990 to promote Chibana-style Okinawa Shorin-ryu karate and Ryukyu kobudo weaponry. Students learn a strict and rigorous form of martial arts that emphasizes discipline, basic techniques, and mastery of hand and foot techniques. The goal of Okinawan karate is not to win, but to develop an ideal character through physical and mental testing. Through consistent training, individuals can improve their physical and mental abilities, including flexibility, coordination, strength, reflexes, and mental acuity. The school offers classes for youth, beginners, intermediate, and advanced students, as well as Ryukyu kobudo - weapons classes. The school also offers family rates and classes structured to accommodate families training together.
