Japanese Karate Academy

Japanese Karate Academy is a traditional Japanese Martial arts dojo established by John Hileman, a Firefighter and Paramedic in the Johnson County area. The goal is to instill the spirit and honor of traditional budo and encourage every student to exceed their expectations. The style is based on techniques and training of Shindo-Jinen Ryu, Shotokan, Jujitsu, and Aikido, with self-defense adapted to today's society. While the focus is on self-defense, significant time is also devoted to conditioning and sport competition. The dojo aims to create a fun and intense workout environment, with plans for guest instructors from various martial arts styles.
