Oliver Martial Arts Academy

Oliver Martial Arts Academy, also known as OMA, is a family-oriented and family-owned martial arts academy located in Riverview, FL. They teach the art of Shotokan, a style of karate developed by Gichin Funakoshi. The academy follows the dojo kun, which are five philosophical rules for training in the dojo. They strive to teach their students to be strong leaders with integrity, and their behavior should leave a positive impression, just like the cedar tree. Their purpose is to perfect the character of the participant, as Funakoshi wrote. OMA is associated with Bushi-do Karate Kai Shotokan PANACO and is a member of the International San Ten Karate Association (ISKA). They have a diverse program that encourages students of different ages and physical development to learn and grow. The academy is led by Sensei Rafael Oliver, a black belt in Shotokan Karate-do and a holder of various degrees in naval engineering, theology, and education.
