About Us
Amherst Tai Chi offers internal martial arts training in Amherst and Northampton, focusing on Taijiquan (T’ai chi ch’üan). The classes emphasize strengthening the mind-body connection and developing the ability to respond effectively to environmental challenges. Through Tai Chi calisthenics and flow drills, participants build a strong, agile, and injury-resistant body. The dojo promotes moving meditation and partner exercises to alleviate tension, fear, and stress. Learning is facilitated through play, experimentation, and various activities such as drills, exercises, games, formwork, and push hands, making the training both enjoyable and effective.
