Shinkendo Buken Atlanta

Shinkendo Buken Atlanta (SBA) is a traditional Japanese dojo that offers instruction in the sword arts of Shinkendo and Toyama-ryū Battōdō, along with Aikibujutsu and Bojutsu. SBA focuses on the five aspects of Japanese swordsmanship, training students in various techniques including sword swinging methods, sword drawing methods, solo forms, partnered sparring, and test cutting. The dojo promotes a comprehensive understanding of martial arts, emphasizing technique and body mechanics in empty-handed arts like Aikidō, which aims to subdue opponents without causing injury. Students can also learn Bōjutsu, a weapon technique utilizing a long staff, rooted in classical samurai methods.
