Ravenswood Aikikai

Ravenswood Aikikai is a community Aikido dojo located in one of the most vibrant neighborhood parks in Chicago. It focuses on a non-violent response to aggression through the practice of Aikido, a Japanese martial art that emphasizes blending with an attacker's force and directing it away. Classes are open to adults and interested teens with parental consent. The dojo encourages a welcoming environment for all, allowing spectators to observe classes. Students typically wear a white Judo gi, while beginners may opt for comfortable workout attire. Aikido promotes conflict resolution in a harmonious manner, ensuring safety for both practitioners.
