About Us
The Washington DC Shotokan Karate Club is one of the oldest dojos in the area, offering education and training in traditional Japanese Shotokan Karate since 1978. Under the guidance of chief instructor David Ernst, the club has grown to become one of the largest in the International Shotokan Karate Federation, with a diverse membership ranging from ages 8 to 70. The dojo welcomes individuals from various backgrounds and experiences, including first-time students and those resuming their karate training. The club focuses on the study of karate, operating as a non-profit organization with volunteer instructors.
