About Us

Kaze-Kai Karate has been operating in Connecticut's Hartford County since the late 90's. The style they specialize in is called Shotokan, which focuses on the pursuit of self-defense and perfection. Their goal is to teach students how to de-escalate high intensity situations and potentially avoid fighting altogether. If forced into a situation where self-defense is necessary, their students are fully capable of resolving it quickly and efficiently. The style entails needing as few strikes as possible and considers how a well-executed block can work just as well as an attack. They teach students to strike an attack when blocking, because a strong enough block can be an effective strike. Kaze-Kai Karate's motto is 'Ikken Hissatsu,' which roughly translates to 'one and done.'
