Albany Samurai Arts

Albany Samurai Arts is dedicated to the study of Nami Ryu Aiki Heiho, located in the heart of the Capital Region in Latham, NY. We focus on Japanese swordsmanship, including Kenjutsu and Iaijutsu, as well as traditional Jujutsu, which serves as the root art of Brazilian Jiujitsu and Aikido. Our curriculum emphasizes the principles of awareness, blending with and deceiving an opponent, and utilizing the laws of physics to facilitate an attacker's defeat. We train in ancient martial arts and strategies once used by the samurai, offering skills applicable in modern times. Benefits of training include calmness of mind, understanding of tactics, increased awareness, and self-defense techniques, all within a community that values honor.
