Kenshinkan Aikido Dojo is the oldest established Aikido club in South Yorkshire, founded in Sheffield in 1969. Aikido is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba in the 1920s, focusing on self-defense while avoiding lethal force. The practice emphasizes harmony, energy, and the path of martial arts, making it accessible to individuals of all genders and ages, from beginners to experienced practitioners. The dojo is affiliated with the European Tomiki Aikido Federation and the British Aikido Board, ensuring a recognized and structured approach to training.
