About Us
The Dojo, known as Filhos de Angola – Valencia, is a group that practices the Capoeira Angola, a martial art that combines elements of dance, music, and acrobatics. It is an art that unites fight, dance, song, percussion, theatricality, sport, and game. The practice of Capoeira Angola brings new perspectives through a continuous development of bodily expression, rhythm, equilibrium, improvisation, and strength, intensifying the naturalness of each capoeirista. The group, part of the GCFA (Grupos de Capoeira Filhos de Angola), was founded in Salvador de Bahia in 1984 by Mestre Roberval and Mestre Laércio, with Mestre Laércio currently serving as the coordinator at the international level. In Valencia, the classes are led by Mestre Daniel Arroz, with the support of Mestre Gato Prejo and other trainers. The Dojo offers classes for adults and children, and is open to those who want to learn about and practice Capoeira Angola without any commitment.
