About Us
Moo Duk Kwan, meaning 'Institute of Martial Virtues', emphasizes the teaching of good virtues such as humility, respect, discipline, and courage alongside martial arts skills. Founded by Grandmaster Hwang Kee in 1945 in Seoul, Korea, it focuses on preserving and propagating the art of Tang Soo Do, also known as Soo Bahk Do, which translates to 'Way of the Striking Hand'. This martial art traces its roots back to ancient Korean martial arts and has gained popularity, especially in the United States, with notable practitioners like Chuck Norris and Cynthia Rothrock. Moo Duk Kwan aims to instill both martial skills and moral values in its students.
