Katori Shintō-ryū Philippines

Katori Shintō-ryū Philippines Sugawara Sogo Budo Yushinkan Dojo is the official Philippines branch of Sugawara Sogo Budo Institute in Japan, teaching Katori Shintō-ryū in Manila since 1998. Katori Shintō-ryū is one of the oldest Japanese martial arts, founded by Iizasa Ienao in the 14th century. This comprehensive martial system emphasizes a broad range of skills, with a primary focus on kenjutsu (sword techniques). Other weapons such as kodachi, rokushakubo, o-naginata, and yari are also taught. The dojo welcomes everyone regardless of social class, providing an opportunity to learn traditional Japanese martial arts.
