Pukulan Betawi

Pukulan Betawi is a style of Pencak Silat practiced within ASV ADVENDO as a self-defense art. The basic technique originates from the Sundalanden of West Java, enhanced with techniques from various Japanese and Chinese martial arts. Pencak Silat Pukulan Betawi hails from the former Batavia, now known as Jakarta, Indonesia. It was developed and perfected by Dutch residents born in the Kwitang neighborhood of Batavia. These individuals were familiar with various regional languages and Indonesian customs, allowing them to adapt and shape Pukulan Betawi. Thus, before World War II, Pencak Silat Pukulan Betawi emerged among martial arts practitioners in the Indonesian Archipelago.
