About Us
Welcome to the official website of Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu (Italian branch), the school of Japanese martial arts founded by the samurai Shinmen Musashi Fujiwara no Genshin, better known as Miyamoto Musashi (1584-1645). The Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu is primarily a school of kenjutsu (the art of the sword), which was one of the arts studied by samurai and held a particularly important role, teaching the use of the weapon symbolizing the warrior class. Its curriculum includes techniques with long sword (tachi), short sword (kodachi), and two swords together (nito), as well as instruction in techniques of Bo (long staff), Jutte (steel truncheon), and JuJutsu (unarmed defense). This is the only group in Italy recognized by the current headmaster, the 12th soke Kajiya Takanori.
