National Gymnasium of Mikra

The National Gymnasium of Mikra is the largest national sports center in Northern Greece. Its construction began in 1980 and has continuously expanded with new facilities. The gym covers an area of approximately 80 acres, housing two modern indoor gyms (Mikra 1 and Mikra 2), and since 2008, Mikra 3 (the 'Handball House'), an indoor gym for artistic-rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline ('House of Gymnastics'), one indoor and two outdoor beach volleyball courts, an outdoor basketball court, an outdoor handball court, a 5x5 football field, six tennis courts, a tennis practice wall, an indoor weightlifting gym, a fitness room, a physiotherapy room, and a conference room. The gym also hosts various sports associations and has facilities for hosting international events and championships.
