About Us
Taekwondo is a Korean martial art with a history spanning over 2000 years. The name Taekwondo combines three Korean words: Tae, meaning foot, which refers to all leg and jumping techniques; Kwon, meaning fist, which refers to all hand and blocking techniques; and Do, meaning the way, which signifies the physical and mental development process. Regular Taekwondo training strengthens the body while improving coordination, speed, balance, and reaction time. This martial art emphasizes not only physical but also mental values such as courtesy, integrity, self-discipline, determination, and a sense of justice. These ancient values remain relevant today, enhancing personal safety and boosting self-confidence, particularly for women and children, through effective movement and self-defense techniques.
