About Us

The Aikido Club Siegburg is a club that is deeply mourning the loss of its long-time member and former president Manfred Putzka, who passed away on June 15, 2025, at the age of 85. Manfred was born on April 15, 1940, in Bonn and played a significant role in shaping Aikido in Germany, particularly in the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis and Bonn regions. He was known for his unrelenting passion and dedication to martial arts, his tireless commitment to helping people with disabilities, and his invaluable contributions to youth work. The club welcomes individuals who are new to Aikido and invites them to attend a free trial training session. They offer training sessions for both youth and adults, with specific times for each group. The club's motto reflects the philosophy of Aikido's founder, Morihei Ueshiba, who emphasized the importance of avoiding physical conflict whenever possible.
