Ryoan-Dojo

Ryoan-Dojo Esslingen e.V. is a martial arts association dedicated to Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, and violence prevention. Based in Esslingen, the dojo emphasizes practical self-defence, teaching students how to recognize and avoid dangerous situations while building the skills to protect themselves and others if necessary. Training is open to children, teenagers, and adults of all genders, focusing on fitness, confidence, and discipline in a supportive environment. In addition to regular martial arts classes, the dojo develops special projects tailored to different groups, combining traditional Japanese martial arts with modern approaches to personal safety and wellbeing. The name “Ryoan” reflects the values of peace, security, and strength, inspired by the Ryoan-ji temple in Kyoto.
