International Yongkumdo Federation

The International Yongkumdo Federation, founded by GM Josef Römers, offers a unique approach to sword fighting known as Yongkumdo. This martial art combines various sword techniques learned by GM Römers during his travels in Korea, including styles such as Hankumdo, Haedongkumdo, Hanguldo, Daehankumdo, and Kummooyae. Through years of training and experience in different Korean martial arts, GM Römers developed Yongkumdo, which reflects traditional Korean samurai techniques. The name Yongkumdo translates to 'Dragon Sword Way,' where 'Yong' means dragon, 'Kum' means sword, and 'Do' means way.
