Canadian Iaido Association

The Canadian Iaido Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the traditional Japanese martial art of Iaido, which involves drawing and cutting with a samurai sword. The purpose of Iaido is to develop awareness, centeredness, sincerity, a calm mind, and mental and physical harmony through the practice of traditional sword techniques. The association was established in 1993 to promote Iaido in Canada, establish formal links with the All Japan Iaido Federation, and administer dan examinations in Canada. The Canadian Iaido Association teaches various styles of Iaido and aims to transmit to future generations the time-honoured schools of kobudo Iaido.
