Budokan Academy

**Budokan Academy** offers training in Iaido and Jodo, with a rich history dating back to 1982. Founded by Ramon Lawrence, the academy originally taught Jujitsu and later expanded to include Kendo, Iaido, and Jodo. In 1988, the academy became the founding WAKR Iaido and Jodo dojo in Western Australia. Over the years, the academy has introduced various styles, including Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido and Tamiya Ryu Iaijitsu, and has contributed to the development of Kyudo in the region.

After relocating to Southern River College in 2020, Budokan Academy continues to provide high-quality martial arts instruction. Students are encouraged to train in both Iaido and Jodo, with an emphasis on self-discipline, ethics, and respect for tradition. Regular training and a strong code of conduct are core principles at Budokan Academy, ensuring the growth of dedicated martial artists.
