The UniSA Shodokan Aikido Club offers practice of a Japanese martial art focused on self-defense, fitness, and social interaction in a safe environment. Shodokan Aikido, developed by Kenji Tomiki, emphasizes defensive techniques that involve blending with and redirecting an attacker's momentum. Open to individuals of all abilities and fitness levels, the club fosters a community atmosphere and provides opportunities for training workshops and competitions. Established in 1995, the club welcomes newcomers with a free introductory lesson, encouraging everyone to explore the benefits of martial arts.
